The conference schedule includes two international keynote presentations, followed by four sessions focusing on different thematic areas:
1. The quality of pre-schools – an investment in the future
What factors ensure that pre-schools are of high quality and what do we know about this? What kind of expertise do the employees need to have and how should the pre-school curriculum be developed?
2. Learning and teaching in Norwegian classrooms – what works?
How can new knowledge about teaching methods help to enhance teachers’ skills and expertise? How can research results from classroom learning be used to develop Norwegian schools?
3. A sector with management challenges – knowledge for the administration
What is the outcome of the extensive changes that have occurred in the education sector in recent years? What challenges face the top administrators and what do we really know about sound management practices? What knowledge does the sector need and how can research contribute to the development of the schools?
4. Adaption for learning – a professional challenge
What do we know about teachers’ practices and systematic efforts to adapt instruction to the individual pupil? What insight can research bring to this issue?
The conference is a cooperative effort between the Programme for Practice-based R&D in Pre-school through Secondary Schools and Teacher Education (PRAKSISFOU) and the Programme for Norwegian Educational Research towards 2020 (UTDANNING2020).
More information about the programme and registration will be available after the summer.
